Last week I had the pleasure of speaking at the Fashion Tech Forum conference. Fashion Tech Forum is a platform and catalyst for innovation, ideas and partnerships in the fashion, retail, investment and technology industries
I was on a panel speaking about the power of influence with some really inspirational women, including Antonia Thompson Weisman and the gorgeous Jenny Fancy. As well as exchanging ideas with the rest of the planer, I got to explain how we tell our story and connect with our customer in the digital world.
This week I am busy preparing for a secret project that I have been working on for the past six months. All will be revealed soon…
I have been needing some new pictures for press for a while now, so last week I decided to connect with one of my favourite photographers, Mark Cant.
Mark has been a friend of the brand for a while now, having shot our campaigns with both Daisy Lowe and Kylie Jenner. I love his work and he has such great energy, so he was the natural choice for this shoot.
We transformed my house into a studio for the morning and shot the whole thing in black and white. I did a mix of formal and casual looks, including lots of clothes by Balmain as they always work well on camera, with many of Mark’s previous shoots acting as inspiration.
It was such a fun shoot and I cant wait to share these with you over on Instagram very soon…
I am always inspired by the number of my girlfriends with great careers, who manage to juggle life as a mum and businesswoman, whilst still looking incredibly beautiful! My friend Erin O’Connor is the perfect example of this and I was reflecting on these ideas after our our recent catch up in Cannes.
I was so excited to be interviewed by Decoded founder Liz Bacelar at their conference this week, alongside digital and fashion visionaries from Matches.com and Net-A-Porter, as well as Nicholas Kirkwood.
I got to talk about how I am taking my brands to the next level by finding new and exciting ways to digitally connect with the customer, including the way I tell my own story. After being in the industry for fifteen years I really enjoy being able to speak at conferences of this type, where I can share my experience with others and also talk about an exciting digital project we have coming up. All will be revealed soon…
After a busy week it was great to spend a couple of days in Cannes during the film festival. Although the city was hectic, I had a really relaxing, fun trip and managed to squeeze a lot in!
I loved hanging out with my friend Erin O’Connor at the Carlton Beach Club during the day, discussing beauty, fashion and balancing work and family life.
After catching up with Erin and a couple other friends who were also in Cannes, I began prepping for the Chopard party which was that evening. I had my hair and make up artist, Gemma Wheatcroft, with me. She did a strong smokey eye which was perfect such a glamorous occasion and used a combination of our Rodial powders to ensure my make up lasted in the heat!
I wore a leather Balmain crop top and long skirt and Erin wore an amazing Ralph and Russo gown. It was such a fabulous evening and a really great way to end the trip.
Until next year Cannes!
In between working on new products and speaking at the SheeerLuxe conference, this week I have been busy preparing for Cannes.
Cannes is one of my favourite places to travel to and this is a fantastic time of year to go, there is such an amazing atmosphere as people from all over the world pour into the city for the Film Festival. I’ll be going with my husband but plan on catching up with friends who are also in town for the week.
I’ve bought a couple of new bikinis but everyone knows Cannes is all about the dresses! I managed to track down one I have had my eye on from Acne but it is currently at the tailors so fingers crossed it fits. I’ve been having Epsom-salt baths, which is a great way to detox the skin and also using a dry brush to exfoliate and improve circulation. I wont lie my packing list is extensive, but I have selected some of the highlights below to share with you!
What’s on your packing list?
Another crazy Monday calls for flats! This pair by Isabel Marant are perfect for when I’m running between meetings.
Posing for photos in between a fun day filming with Henry Holland. All will be revealed soon…
No words needed for the gorgeous Erin O’Connor…!
An exciting breakfast with the team at Harvey Nichols to hear all about their new app, followed by a catch up with some of the best make up artists in town at our very own Sculpting Bar.
Friday morning coffee whilst going through post, including a card from the gorgeous Daisy Lowe. There is something I love about a handwritten note!
Back to Harvey Nichols to have my make up done for a Saturday evening spent catching up with old friends at the Chiltern Firehouse.
A relaxed Sunday morning with my husband and two boys at Granger & Co in Notting Hill.
Last night was one of my favourite events of the year – the Met Gala.
I love that Instagram now means we get a sneak peek of what everybody is wearing before they even hit the steps of the Met. Here are a few of the best…
What was your favourite? Let me know @MrsRodial…
Last week I flew to Florence for the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference.
Hosted by international Vogue editor Suzy Menkes, the conference involved a series of discussions on the challenges and opportunities faced by luxury brands today. It was held at the spectacular Palazzo Vecchio, which was the perfect setting for such an inspirational few days.
Marc Newson and Jonathon Ive, two of the men behind the new Apple watch, opened the conference and set the tone with their debate on technology and the luxury market. Over the next couple of days I heard from speaker’s such as Jeremy Scott, Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye and Tory Burch, who all touched on the importance of social media in the luxury market.
So much of what the speakers had to say was really inspiring and thought provoking, but my personal highlight has got to be Karl Largerfeld. His conversation with Suzy Menkes on not looking to the past included some fascinating personal details, as well as how he translates these ideas into his business. Those of you who follow me on snapchat (@MrsRodial) will have caught parts of this conversation on my story, but I don’t think it could quite capture the atmosphere in the room, as he received a well deserved standing ovation at the end.
I also went to some incredible parties and met people whose work I have followed for a long time, including the fabulous Edgardo and Ricardo of Aquazurra. I thought this was very appropriate for one of my favorite quotes of the conference, which was by Suzy Menkes
‘Luxury today is as much about high-tech as high heels’.

I’m so pleased to announce last week marked the launch of our make up in the US. We’ve had such an amazing reaction in the UK and I am so excited to be able to share the range with our US customers.
Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know my hotel of choice is always The Crosby and it was the perfect place for the launch. Our fabulous head make-up artist Gemma Wheatcroft flew over and spent the day creating some really amazing sculpted looks for the invited press, who all gave such lovely feedback. It was such a fabulous event and I now can’t wait for our make up to roll out across Bluemercury stores nationwide.
I also managed to squeeze in a quick dinner with friends, as well as attending the New Yorkers for Children Dinner at The Mandarin Oriental. The evening was a tribute to Oscar de la Renta and a really beautiful occasion; everyone looked incredibly elegant.
