Last week I flew to Florence for the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference.

Hosted by international Vogue editor Suzy Menkes, the conference involved a series of discussions on the challenges and opportunities faced by luxury brands today. It was held at the spectacular Palazzo Vecchio, which was the perfect setting for such an inspirational few days.

Marc Newson and Jonathon Ive, two of the men behind the new Apple watch, opened the conference and set the tone with their debate on technology and the luxury market. Over the next couple of days I heard from speaker’s such as Jeremy Scott, Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye and Tory Burch, who all touched on the importance of social media in the luxury market.

So much of what the speakers had to say was really inspiring and thought provoking, but my personal highlight has got to be Karl Largerfeld. His conversation with Suzy Menkes on not looking to the past included some fascinating personal details, as well as how he translates these ideas into his business. Those of you who follow me on snapchat (@MrsRodial) will have caught parts of this conversation on my story, but I don’t think it could quite capture the atmosphere in the room, as he received a well deserved standing ovation at the end.

I also went to some incredible parties and met people whose work I have followed for a long time, including the fabulous Edgardo and Ricardo of Aquazurra. I thought this was very appropriate for one of my favorite quotes of the conference, which was by Suzy Menkes

‘Luxury today is as much about high-tech as high heels’.

I’m so pleased to announce last week marked the launch of our make up in the US. We’ve had such an amazing reaction in the UK and I am so excited to be able to share the range with our US customers.

Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know my hotel of choice is always The Crosby and it was the perfect place for the launch. Our fabulous head make-up artist Gemma Wheatcroft flew over and spent the day creating some really amazing sculpted looks for the invited press, who all gave such lovely feedback. It was such a fabulous event and I now can’t wait for our make up to roll out across Bluemercury stores nationwide.

I also managed to squeeze in a quick dinner with friends, as well as attending the New Yorkers for Children Dinner at The Mandarin Oriental. The evening was a tribute to Oscar de la Renta and a really beautiful occasion; everyone looked incredibly elegant.

I love checking out what people are wearing on different blogs and websites and one of my favourite sites has got to be The Zoe Report. It’s a great place for daily inspiration and the founder, Rachel Zoe, is one of my all time favourite style and beauty icons, as well as being a great business woman.

My last trip to LA was a great opportunity to catch up with the girls from The Zoe Report. We had so much fun exchanging style notes and I absolutely loved the article they wrote up on my trip, you can now read it online here.

It was a crazy week in the office with lots of meetings about an exciting upcoming collaboration and digital project. With a lot to think about and a busy few weeks ahead, I decided this was the perfect time for a last minute getaway with my family.

Greece is one of our favourite holiday destinations and always a great opportunity to catch up with friends and family. It was a quick trip and I wanted to keep packing light, so my essential product was Rodial Stemcell Super-food Glam Balm Multi, it’s my wonder product!

  • I apply to dry skin and wipe away with warm water to remove make up before the flight.
  • I smooth onto heels and toes before putting on a pair of cashmere socks, for an indulgent in-flight foot treatment.
  • I use it give skin a mini facial massage during the flight.
  • I mix with hand cream to apply in flight.
  • I use it to plump and hydrate lip.
  • I mix with my hair serum and apply from root to tip to help tame flyaways and give dry hair a boost.
  • Before landing I dab it on eyelids for a wide-awake glow
  • Lastly I use it to groom eyelashes and eyebrows.

After a couple days of catching up with my sister in the sunshine, I felt super relaxed and ready to head back to the UK. I’m now back in the office and gearing up for my trip to New York this week!

This week I went to LA to speak at the Simply Stylist Fashion & Beauty Conference. It was a crazy trip and I managed to squeeze in lots of exciting meetings about upcoming projects, as well as catching up with several makeup artists and the girls from E!, The Zoe Report and PopSugar. I can’t wait to share more information with you over the next few months, but for now you’ll just have to keep your eyes peeled for the photos!

The conference itself was held at The Grove, so I couldn’t resist popping into Nordstrom and checking out the Rodial counter whilst I was there, I love being able to see our products all over the globe. Some of the other speakers included E!’s Catt Sadler and the gorgeous Alessandra Ambrossio, it was great to hear what they had to say they and to be able to share my story with young female entrepreneurs. The theme of the conference was ‘Do What You Love’ which I thought was a great message and key in how I started and grew my business.

I had fabulous Rodial make up artist Elyse Reneau doing my make up, but made sure I kept an Instaglam Contouring Powder and Glamstick in Just Daisy on me for touch ups. I also managed to squeeze in a massage at the Bliss Spa, which helped me unwind during what turned out to be a very hectic trip!

I caught a late flight back to London on Sunday and relaxed with a Dragon’s Blood Eye Mask on the flight. It helps avoid under-eye puffiness and dark circles, meaning I could arrive in London on Monday feeling bright eyed and ready to share all my news from the trip with the team!

Rodial Breakfast with Daisy Lowe

This morning my dear friend Gianluca and I hosted a breakfast interview at Chiltern Firehouse with Rodial’s gorgeous face of make up Daisy Lowe! Daisy as always looked beautiful and oozed rock chick glamour! We all learnt some great secrets about Daisy, she loves Audrey Hepburn, she takes 7 minutes to get ready & she loves Glamstick’s… well let’s be honest who doesn’t?

‘Just Daisy’ new Glamstick launch

We are so excited to launch our new Glamstick ‘Just Daisy’ in celebration of our make up brand ambassador, Daisy Lowe. It’s a versatile colour that can be worn day and night like a little black dress.

The perfect shade of berry with a touch of brown, this is my staple colour to get me through fashion week.

1. Make sure you base your skin properly or you can get patches and skin can appear uneven. Use Rodial Instaglam Airbrush Primer to give a dewy start to the skin and hold your make-up in place.

2. Use the Contour Powder to define the face. Apply the contouring powder underneath the cheekbones, across the top of the forehead, under the jaw line & tip of your nose.

3. Highlighting – add lightness to the under eye area, also known as the triangle of light. Use the Instaglam Retouch & Instaglam Highlighter for the best results.

4. Instaglam Magic Pen Eye Glow is one of my favourite products; apply in the corner of the eyes, to make them pop!

5. Finish the sculpt with some Translucent powder to set the make-up and cover any areas where the skin may appear uneven.
